The Mortar is needed to craft the Rainbow Dye, but there will be other things that will need this tool. It is also very decorative for a kitchen or a laboratory.

Details
The Mortar was first designed as a decoration. In fun, we made it usable to craft Redstone from Redstone Ore or Lapis from Lapis Ore, but not with luck, just one for one. Then we decided to use it for our Rainbow Dye, and there will probably be more uses in the future.
Obtaining
It didn’t look like your normal crafting table, but it makes powder out of small items.

You need to put 3 blocks of quartz in a V-shaped form in the crafting table for one Mortar.

Usage
The Mortar is a crafting object that is used by right-clicking on it. The crafted item will drop in the player inventory, if it is not full. Because it has no tile-entity, it can’t be automated.
Placement
The Mortar can be place decorative in the world. It is not central on the block.
